Art Deco Hares Brooch With Rose Cut Diamonds & Rubies 18K Gold
Art Deco period diamond ruby running baby Hares brooch - 18 karat gold with a silver front, circa 1928.
The two baby hares, running together, are embellished with various size old rose cut diamonds that sparkle beautifully. Their eyes set with rubies. The piece is made in 18 karat gold with a silver gallery setting to match the diamonds. This was a popular technique of the Deco period. The piece has a hallmark on the catch but now faded. It has, however, been verified and tested as 18 karat gold.
The original rose diamonds are intact and secure, one or two stones have slight nibbles but only noticeable under close magnification. Pin slots neatly into its safety catch. Overall very good condition for such an old piece.
